Unity asset manager inspect, organise, and reuse your packages
AssetHoard is a local-first desktop asset manager for Unity developers and digital artists. Stop importing packages blind: inspect, tag, and preview your Unity asset library (models, materials, and textures), then drag what you need directly into your Unity project, all before anything touches it.
AssetHoard in your Unity workflow
Drag straight into Unity
Drag any asset from AssetHoard straight into your Unity project. No copy-pasting, no hunting through file explorer, no breaking your flow.
Key features
- Drag assets into your open Unity project
- Works for prefabs, models, textures, and more
- Keep your library separate from your project
Inspect any .unitypackage before importing
A .unitypackage is a black box until you import it. AssetHoard opens it up so you can see the models, materials, and textures inside, rendered visually, before anything lands in your project.
Key features
- Preview the models, materials, and textures inside
- Check asset counts and file types at a glance
- No import step and no opening Unity
Browse and tag your whole Unity library
Keep every Unity package in one place. Tag your purchases by project or category and Asset Hoard searches across the whole library, no matter how large your backlog grows.
Key features
- One library across every project and pack
- Tag by project, category, or status
- Search and filter in seconds, however large it grows
Rediscover your Asset Store backlog
Most Unity developers have dozens of purchased packages sitting untouched. Point Asset Hoard at your download folder and finally see what you already own, then put it to use.
Key features
- Index your Asset Store download folder
- Preview packs you bought but never used
- Jump back to the Asset Store listing in a click

Frequently asked questions
Yes. AssetHoard reads .unitypackage files from any version of Unity, including Unity 6. It inspects the package format directly, so it works regardless of which Unity version created the package.
No. AssetHoard is a standalone desktop application that reads your packages and project files from disk. There is no plugin to install inside Unity, no editor scripts, and no changes required to your project.
Yes. Point AssetHoard at your Asset Store download folder and it will index every package. You can then search, tag, and preview the contents without opening Unity or importing anything.
No. AssetHoard reads your assets for preview and tagging and does not write to your project or its Library cache. Your project state is left untouched, so you can open and close it in Unity exactly as before.
Yes. Drag any asset from AssetHoard directly into your open Unity project. It works for prefabs, models, textures, materials, and the other file types Unity supports, without hunting through file explorer.
Prefabs are indexed and listed with the rest of a package's contents, and you can drag them straight into Unity. AssetHoard shows a prefab's thumbnail when one is stored in the .unitypackage, but it cannot natively render prefabs. Models, materials, and textures inside a package are previewed visually.
Yes. AssetHoard keeps a single library that can index assets from any number of Unity projects, plus loose folders, Asset Store packs, and the rest of your creative workspace. Search and tagging work across the whole library, so you can find an asset from one project and reuse it in another in seconds.
No. AssetHoard is a companion tool. It helps you organise and preview your asset library outside of Unity, then drag what you need into your project. The Unity Package Manager still handles in-project dependencies.
