The short version

AssetHoard is software you download and run on your own machine. It is currently in free beta, so it is provided as-is while we keep building it. You own your assets and your data, we don't. Be reasonable and don't misuse the app or this website.

Accepting these terms

By downloading, installing, or using the AssetHoard application, or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use AssetHoard. These terms apply to both the desktop application and this website.

Your licence to use AssetHoard

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use AssetHoard for your own creative and commercial work. You may not:

  • Resell, rent, or redistribute the software
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
  • Remove or alter branding, or pass the software off as your own

For details on how licences work, see our licensing documentation. If you've lost a licence key, you can recover it here.

Beta software

AssetHoard is in active beta and is provided free of charge during this period. That means:

  • The software is provided as-is and may contain bugs
  • Features may change, be added, or be removed as the app evolves
  • We can't guarantee data integrity or compatibility between versions

Please keep your own backups of anything important. As a local-first app, your library lives on your machine and stays under your control.

Your assets and content

You keep all rights to the asset files you manage with AssetHoard. We claim no ownership over your library, your files, or your metadata. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and licences for the assets you import and use.

Acceptable use

Don't use AssetHoard for anything unlawful, and don't abuse our website or services, including the newsletter and feedback endpoints. We may restrict access if the software or services are misused.

No warranty

AssetHoard is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AssetHoard and its makers are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the software. Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Pricing and payment

AssetHoard is free to use during the beta period. Paid licences are planned for the 1.0 release. When pricing is introduced, we'll update these terms and make the changes clear before they apply to you.

Third-party services

AssetHoard relies on a small number of external services. How we handle any data is covered in our privacy policy.

  • Downloads and updates: Releases and update checks are served via GitHub
  • Newsletter and feedback: Optional forms on this website that you choose to submit

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use AssetHoard after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
